She’s dreamed about this moment her whole life, and you want it to be perfect. You’ve already purchased the ring, know exactly how you’ll ask her and now need to find the picture-perfect backdrop to propose. St. Maarten has so many incredible locations to choose from, but here are our top five romantic spots on island.

1.  Loterie Farm

Whether you choose to pop the question mid-zip lining or lounging at the pool, Loterie Farm is one of the most romantic spots on the French side. Surrounded by lush greenery, this relaxing oasis is ideal to propose at. After you propose, order a bottle of champagne to celebrate her saying yes!

2.  Karakter Beach Bar

With more of a lounge atmosphere, pop the question over lunch and a bottle of rosé at this Simpson Bay beach restaurant. With tasty food and lively music, the ambiance will keep you calm, cool and collected as you ask her to marry you.

3. Sunset Cruise

Take a coastal cruise with the catamaran Tango and sail into the sunset with a glass of champagne in your hand. Pop the questions while the sun sets behind the Caribbean Sea. Make sure that the skipper offers a 'round on the house' after she agreed.

4.  At an Italian Restaurant

Nothing screams romance more than Italian cuisine.  Maybe it’s because we think of the movie, “Lady and the Tramp” where they share the spaghetti noodle…we digress! Two of our favorite Italian fine dining restaurants are Isola Ristorante located in Pelican Key on the Dutch side, and Rendes-Vouz Lounge in Porto Cupecoy which is also on the Dutch side.  Hint: propose before you get your appetizers so you can enjoy your meal as a newly engaged couple!

5.  Rainforest Adventures

Ask her to marry you on top of the island! Rainforest Adventures is located in Rockland Estates and features different adventures to choose from. This exhilarating proposal spot will be a day she’ll remember forever. Celebrate your engagement afterward at the new restaurant Emilio’s Restaurant, which is located on site.
